Dear
Mr. LaMoureaux:
Please
accept my warmest welcome to the Climb for
America's Children Denali 2001 - 2002 Expedition,
a benefit for the nonprofit organization,
"A Child Is Missing." You could
not have chosen a more spectacular state
for "The NeXt Generation Telethon"
and sporting event.
I
applaud your efforts in organizing this
extreme sport charitable event to raise
funds for the National Command Center. Heightened
awareness of the "National Rapid Response
System" will enable law enforcement
officials to find missing children across
the country, a truly worthy cause. Your
selfless commitment to the success and future
development of "A Child Is Missing"
is extremely impressive.
On
behalf of all Alaskans, thank you for your
dedication to serving our country and communities
in the past, present, and future. I wish
you the best of luck on a successful telethon
and sport event!

Dear
Mr. LaMoureaux:
I
would like to applaud you for founding The
Climb for America's Children event. You
and your program have taken on the daunting
task of finding missing children, which
is one of the toughest and most challenging
goals imaginable.
Every
day that passes, more than 3,000 children
are reported missing, and most Americans
have no idea this is even occurring. It
is always an emotional and physical drain
that takes an enormous amount of commitment,
dedication and faith to keep going for everyone
involved.
As
Co-Founder of the Congressional Missing
and Exploited Children's Caucus, and Chairman
of the Entertainment Task Force, I want
you to know you'll have my full support
in meeting the challenges you face. I can't
think of a more worthy cause, and I know
it will be a huge success.

Dear
George,
I
appreciate you briefing me on the Climb
for America's Children event and A Child
is Missing, programs which are so very important
to this country. As you explained the program
was founded by Sherry Friedlander and is
expanding nationwide, Alaska being one of
the states that will benefit from its service.
You
will make Alaska proud that you have come
up with this interesting way to assist in
raising funds to not only bring the program
to Alaska but to help other states and the
children in those states. The awareness
to the public that your climb will generate
will alert the families in their time of
need that there is immediate help for them
to find their child that is missing in the
first hours of their disappearance.
There
are over 3,000 missing children reported
daily in our country; this is incredible.
Speeding up the search process through A
Child Is Missing rapid response system to
the area they were last seen and alerting
the people in the area of the child's disappearance
will assist law enforcement in the recovery
of these missing children.
This
is a tremendous undertaking and I congratulate
you and your team that are willing to use
their experience in helping in this important
program.
George,
your experience of successfully building
companies, putting things together, working
with a vision and knowing lots of people
in business and the media makes a big difference
in an undertaking such as the Climb for
America's Children. You have my support.
Sincerely,
William J Sheffield

Mr.
George LaMoureaux, Founder
Climb for America's Children, and
National Advisory Board Member of "A
Child is Missing"
3705 Arctic Boulevard #1124
Anchorage, AK 99503
Dear
Mr. LaMoureaux,
Congratulations
on being named to the National Advisory
Board of "A Child is Missing."
I
was astounded to learn that over 3,000 children
a day are reported missing in America, according
to FBI figures, and last year 4,241 missing
children cases were in Alaska alone. Even
when most children are found, it is a traumatic
experience. Something this horrifying needs
to be dealt with in an immediate and strategic
manner.
Your
support for the "National Command Center"
and the National Rapid Response System"
(now nationwide because of your fundraising
campaign) has enabled and will continue
to help law enforcement officials to find
missing children here in Alaska and across
the nation. This is a noble cause that needs
broad support.
Good
Luck with you "Climb for America's
Children" charitable event here and
the "A Child is Missing" program.
Sincerely,
Walter J Hickel
Former Governor of Alaska
Former Secretary of the Interior

More

this alarming rate from continuing. I appreciate
your commitment to your community and the
contributions you have made to enhance both
our way of life and our society as a whole.
Congratulations
on all your accomplishments and my warmest
