Mission Statement

Climb for America's Children is a nonprofit corporation that was founded to raise funds for A Child Is Missing and other nonprofit organizations that benefit children in need. This need is clear with over 3,000 children reported missing every day! A Child Is Missing is a first responder, when contacted by law enforcement, in the search/recovery efforts for a missing child during the first two to three hours after the child is reported missing. It is important to find a child in the first two to three hours, after that it is a matter of life & death if the child is not found.

In order to gain attention and awareness to raise funds, Climb for America's Children will be doing something very unique, it is staging the " NeXt Generation Telethon " which will involve world class climbers, world class guides and celebrities. It will be the first national fundraiser of its type, a nationally televised climb of Denali, (Mount McKinley) for charity. This is the highest mountain in North America, known as one of the most hostile environments in the world. Therefore, a campaign was needed with extremes in every since of the word, making it a climb that will be viewed as an "extreme reality hyped television show " and followed by people around the world. You will be aware of the expedition on television, newspapers, radio, the Internet and other means of communications on a daily basis.

As the climb proceeds, our mission to raise a substantial amount of money for A Child Is Missing through this telethon will become more intense every inch of the way. Therefore, if you wish to pledge funds to the climbers for this worthy cause, this will be the opportunity to do so! Climb for America’s Children will climb Mount McKinley (Denali), North America’s highest mountain to that end in June 2002.

To raise capital, especially for nonprofit entities, other entities usually use a theme to attract the attention of the general public, because the public is already inundated with many types of opportunities and places to contribute. Because marketing and promotions is the forte of the founders of Climb for America’s Children, the goal was to find a worthy nonprofit organization that could benefit from a major promotional campaign with the highest exposure, while also minimizing costs wherever possible. The organization’s mission is to help "save children" with a major promotional campaign, a "NeXt-Generation Telethon" and "Reality-Based" television special that will substantially benefit these children in need.

In conclusion, our goal was clear and the promotional campaign, "theme" was right in front of our eyes; "The Biggest, Most Hostile Expeditions In The World" – to focus America’s attention on this need to fund A Child is Missing. Thus, the Climb for America’s Children, Denali 2001-2002 Expedition Campaign was begun. As an expedition comparison, it was said of the team who, on the summit of Mount Everest recorded the coldest temperature on record, "a cold day on Everest is a warm day on Denali".
